Bandflex
is growing, and is developing a reputation for being one of
the best, value for your money, in home gyms. Its system of
bungee cables replaces the traditional weight stack and the
comfortable movement, and easy use, have been happily compared
to free weights, minus the inconveniences and risk or injury.
Similar to the Bowflex, both are effective
home gyms with one main difference... Price!
The Bandflex, at $300.00 including shipping,
is a third of the price of the most basic model that bowflex
has to offer. Another, more noticeable difference, is that
one is equipped with strong bungee cables, while the other
uses "power rods" to provide resistance.
Having received good consumer feedback so far,
the Bandflex has been compared to free weights and offers
easy use. It presents all the standard resistanace exercises,
such as the shoulder press, bench press, leg press, lat pull,
and leg extension/curls, etc. The Bowflex, although also a
great home gym, will cost upwards of $1000.00 for the same
exercises.
Both the Bandflex and the Bowflex will offer
approximately 250lbs of resistance, which is more than enough
for the majority of fitness users, however, if you are looking
to body build, you may need to look for atlernatives. Only
free weights will offer the level of resistance required in
amassing large muscle mass and bulk.
The Badflex is a great, low cost, alternative
to the Bowflex. It's not an option, for many, to pay $1000.00
for a home gym.
